It was a beautiful sunny day down in West Palm Beach, Florida when we set out on the water with Michael Smith and the crew for our 3/4 Day Trip with Tuna Wahoo Charters. March is a fantastic time to be out on the water here, with clear conditions and the fish getting more active as the waters start to warm up. We met up at the docks early in the morning, got the gear ready, and headed out full of excitement for a great day of fishing.
Once we got out on the water, we started working some deep-sea spots, mixing in trolling, bait casting, and heavy tackle to cover different depths and target the variety of species in the area. It wasn't long before the rods started bending, and we were hauling in Atlantic bonito and Little tunny - those fish really put up a great fight! We kept the action going with some White grunt as well, finding them responding well to our kite fishing and drift fishing techniques. The crew was awesome, staying engaged and enthusiastic the whole time, making it an all-around fun and productive trip.
Though the fish were biting well, the best part was just being out on the water, taking in the great conditions and enjoying the experience together. There's nothing quite like the thrill of fighting a strong fish, and watching the angler's face light up when they finally get it in the boat. We had that happen throughout the day, and it's those kinds of moments that really make these trips special, win or lose.
